As for me, I'm trying my very best to look at everything positively as being depressed is a waste of life. We only have a limited time to live on Earth, so, treasure every moment and live life to the fullest. If learning to accept can exchange something for happiness, then why not go for it?
I've done that and I think I'm doing pretty well. In these few days, there is not a single day I'm feeling down. Mum asked, "How come you're not angry at *a particular incident*? Usually you'll be all sad and frustrated." Well, all I did was answer, "I told you I've learnt to accept everything that comes to me with a smile, I don't want to live life like before anymore. It's tiring." And so, it's effective, really.
Well, maybe you can allow yourself to let out and express your feelings, be it exasperation or joy to your friends or even parents. Choose a friend who'll always be there for you and never doubt you for who you are. Of course, parents are the best people on Earth to express your feelings to. I have the most amazing parents, I have to say. They're the best parents I could ever ask for. Although I must admit that they annoy me sometimes when they nag at me or even blame me for no reason but remember, SMILE. And always keep in mind that whatever they're doing is all for your own good. There are no parents on Earth who put their children at a disadvantage, are there? The simple five-letter word does really help you to handle your emotions.
Recently, by doing this, I've slowly discovered the beauty of life and people around me. I've also discovered the importance of having a few close friends around me. A few is enough to colour your life and make it meaningful. :) You may not change immediately but remember, you're slowly coping with it, just like me. :P
